Sanjay is currently in his final year as a Human Resources major in the Bachelor of Administrative Studies program, and this year, he will be assuming the role of President of the Human Resources Student Association. He decided to choose Human Resources as his career path because after transfering from a Psychology program at another school, and entering the Management stream at York, he knew after taking a few HR courses that this was the right program for him.
His decision to be in the Bachelor of Administrative Studies - Human Resources program as opposed to the Bachelor of Human Resources Management program came from his love for business as a whole. Although he loved Human Resources, he also enjoyed learning the different aspects and concepts involved with business management as well, and that is why choosing the program he did was a perfect fit! One of his absolute favourite areas in Human Resources is Training and Development, which he hopes to build a career around after graduation. Asides from school, his hobbies include cars, movies, music, and various types of food!

Alia is in her third year as a Human Resources student pursuing the Bachelor of Human Resources Management degree. Her first involvement with HRSA came from her first year, where she was a general member. After learning more about the organization, she decided to get involved and found that it was truly rewarding both academically, personally, and socially. She served as Vice President of External Relations last year, and because of her dedication, she is now back for another round as the Vice President Operations! Her interests outside of school include volunteer work, soccer, tennis, swimming, reading, and gardening.

Rabia is a third year Business and Society major with a huge heart for giving! She loves volunteering because she gets to meet new people, learn new skills, gain experience, and learn more about herself as well as what she is capable of. She also believes in volunteering wherever she can, and giving as much back as she can to the community which shows from her previous experience. In the past, she has given a lot of her time to various clubs and organizations at York University as well as other places around the Greater Toronto area. She plans on using her experience and expertise this year as she strategizes, coordinates, and guides other students to see their love for the field, and find out what they want to do with their chosen career paths.

Mariya is a second year student pursuing a degree in Human Resources. She is a hard worker who has missed out on some of the experiences available to her in her first year, but she is determined to not let that get her down! She joined this organization because she wants to experience university beyond its academic aspects, and she knew that this was the right place for her to be after meeting our team. She is determined to make the most of her experiences and skills by offering her support and knowledge to us to make sure the students that walk around campus each day knows more about HRSA and the opportunities available to them. She is currently also working for an organization that runs a youth program for newcomers to Canada, helping them with their transition to our country. She takes part in organizing all sorts of activities, events, and field trips in order for the people in the program to meet others, build connections, and make new friends.
Aside from school and work, she absolutely loves eating food and making it herself! She does not follow recipes because she loves to make her own delicious creations! Her other interests include travelling because it allows her to try different cultural foods, explore different destinations, and meet a lot of new people in the process.
Name: Ranusha Paramanantharajah

Ranusha is currently in her second year, studying Human Resources Management. She came to know more about the Human Resources Student Association by attending our events, and decided afterwards that she wanted to be a part of it herself in order to build her network with others, and learn more about the field itself. One of the areas that she is the most interested in as a Human Resources major is payroll. She hopes to gain more knowledge and explore her interest further by being a part of the Human Resources Student Association as our Vice President Finance. Her hobbies outside of academia include movies such as Titanic, listening to music, and chocolate!

Samira is a second year student in the Bachelor of Human Resources Management program. She loves being challenged, and is willing to work hard to excel in everything that she puts her mind to. She recently came from Iran, and loves being a part of a diverse and multicultural city because it allows her to meet new people with different cultures, interests and personalities. Her hobbies include watching movies, reading and listening to music. She is also a big sports fan, and is passionate about tennis, swimming, and kickboxing.

Mayooran is a driven, hardworking individual in his final year of the Bachelor of Human Resources Management program whose inspiration for success comes from his family's support. Asides from working towards a bachelors degree, he is currently also working towards a certificate in Adult Training at Centennial College where he also received his advanced diploma in Operations Management in 2009. He holds with him over three years of management experience, and he currently works for the United Parcel Service (UPS) as their HR Supervisor. His interest outside of academia includes watching and participating in all types of sports, the great outdoors, gourmet cooking and spending time with loved ones.

Tracey is a fourth year student in the Bachelor of Administrative Studies program with a focus in the Management field, and she is also interested in completing a Certificate in Human Resources as well as obtaining her CHRP designation, along with a MBA in the future. She seeks to continuously aim to develop and improve her interpersonal and leadership skills by engaging in new projects and meeting new people. Although she is majoring in Management, she has always had a strong passion for the Arts, especially for music and photography. She loves being creative, thinking outside the box, and going beyond the average standard. She believes that learning is a constant process, and that there are so much that we can learn and improve in ourselves everyday.

Jacqueline is a second year Human Resources major pursing the Honours Bachelor of Human Resources Management degree. Some of her favourite areas in Human Resources include Compensation, Recruitment, Employment Law, and Training and Development. She plans on working towards her CHRP designation upon graduation, and completeing a Certificate in Business Management afterwards in order to pair her specialized knowledge in Human Resources with general business knowledge. In her first year, she got involved with New College Council as a Public Relations Representative and from there, she continued to get involved around school. Going into her second year, she is the Vice President Communications for the Human Resources Student Association, and she is also a mentor for the Peer Mentorship Program that New College offers.
She finds that getting involved brings out university in ways that books and classrooms cannot, and feels that it is extremely rewarding to be contributing to organizations and programs that make a difference. She hopes to continue her involvement around school throughout her undergraduate years and after that as well.

Alyssa is a third year Human Resources Management student who will be graduating from York University in 2013. She aspires to someday possess a CHRP designation, so following graduation, she is planning on writing her National Knowledge Exam (NKE) exam in order to become a candidate for this certification. She was personally influenced to go into the Human Resources field by her eldest sister, who has also developed a career in this field herself. After touching upon different aspects of Human Resources in high school, she instinctively knew that it was a field that she would excel in. Her experiences from work and academia has allowed her to share the knowledge that she gained in Human Resources with those around her, and she is excited to continue helping our current as well as future workforces by utilizing her field expertise. Aside from learning and practicing Human Resources, Alyssa also enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, listening to music, and watching sports.

Karmjit is the outgoing President of HRSA, and she is in her final year as a Human Resources major in the Bachelor of Administrative Studies program. She was the Vice President Communications two years back, and finds that working with this organization has been truly rewarding because of the great people, experiences, and connections. Her interests in the HR field consists mainly of these three areas: recruitment, compensation, and training and development. She also loves new adventures whether they come from reading or travelling, and spends a lot of her time escaping away from reality by engaging in her world of books!
